Grant him one last choice...
Since my last post the High Peak Club had there AGM, and for some crazy reason or another me an Jamie ended up running for the walks coordinator position. However thankfully we lost didn't win, but apparently is was the closest vote of the night :-s. It was a good laugh though, after the meeting we all headed to Interval for more drinks then it was on Juice. We all had a good amount to drink and had a thoroughly good night out.
The weekend was the first one for 3 weeks i could have a lye in!! Saturday me, Jamie and Ellie went to The Works to watch the BUSA bouldering comp, which was pretty awesome and Sheffield uni wiped the floor in all categories. Sunday I just did work and hit the matrix for a couple of hours.
So far this week it's been fairly uneventful, not even been to the Tavern for the quiz this week. I've been rejected tonight, everyone has gone out but no one thought to invite so I've just done a chunk of my work to save the stress of fitting it in around Marc's visit this weekend. It'll be great to see him, I need something to distract me, everyone is heading home in 2 weeks time but i still have nearly a month until i see Suffolk again. I'm hope this scholarships worth all the hassle...
Yesterday me and Jamie caught the 272 to Burbage with the rest of the high peak guys for a boulder. Jamie got to break himself into real bouldering and i got to christen my mat that's been way to clean since xmas, after the clouds came in and the problem we were stuck on and removed all of our skin we called it a day and headed home to chillax.

If i get home before daylight...
I assume that the last comment was from Emma, and i suppose i should do as I'm told.
The past few days seem to have flown by, nothing much happened last week, well not until Friday anyway. I packed up my kit for Scotland after Fridays tutorial and got to Tapton car park on time, only to be left waiting for an hour and half before the mini bus turned up. After about seven and half hours drive we arrived in Scotland, somewhere. The bunkhouse was very plush compared to most I've stayed in, but we didn't didn't take much notice of the furnishings, just found a bed and hit the sack.
After an early start, and lots of faffing we we're back in the bus on our way to the Cairngorm car park. After a short trek we we're into the snow (or what was left of it). We spent the day pr acting basic winter skills, such as kicking steps and moving in snow, we then moved on to ice axe work, cutting steps, cutting snow buckets and ice axe arrests. We must have slid down the slop 100 times!! But all great fun!
After getting back to the bunk house getting out of our wet gear and getting hot food in our stomachs we kit the pub, luckily next door, for a few pints and a general jolly.
The next morning we were again heading out to the Cairngorm car park after a lot of faff. We headed to a different part of the corries not far for the first though. we practiced using crampons on rock snow and ice as well as placing ice axes in ice. After that we headed further up into more snow to practice setting up belay points in the snow, and just more sliding (accidental).
We arrived back in Sheffield shortly after 1.00 Monday morning having had a great weekend as well as made some great new friends :-)
