My oh my you know it just don't stop...

Just got in from the pub, it was Quiz night at the 'Tav'. It's become a bit of a ritual as our Tuesday night entertainment, a laugh and a chance to win some cash, or even better free booze. Unfortunately for us, as every week we didn't win the quiz, so no free beer. We didn't have the best team name, so no free shots, and we didn't get the cash question so no £100 jackpot that had been building, which was lost to one random guy at the bar!
I had my penultimate exam today with the last one on Friday, (Can't F**king wait!) However my break will be short lived as lectures begin again Monday morning and i have to collect my lab work for this weekend tomorrow afternoon. To celebrate the end of these poxy exams we, the F.A.G flats, are throwing another party hopefully to rival our past ones.

I'm about to see how far I can fly...

Exams are in full swing bringing all the joy and happiness of the torture. I've had two so far, which still means three to go. However coming home from my biology exam today I had two pleasant surprises. One being a package of things I ordered over a month ago and the second my brand spanking new boots I ordered on Tuesday! Wooooo! This means I now have very little I need to get in the way of kit for Scotland, just a rucksac which I hope Hollie can get me on the cheap then I'll be all sorted. The plan of action tonight is revise some maths, have dinner, watch ER and hit the sack. I'm knakered, I hadn't seen 7.30am for quite a while until today, did you know its dark!?

My new boots!

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right...

I've been back at uni 3 days now, and like i thought it would be, it doesn't really feel like I've been away. It's good to see everyone again, although there are still lots of people I've still yet to say high to. My first exam is coming up Monday, even with them so close I'm still not motivated to revise, I've done bugger all since I've been here, better crack on today.
Me and Jamie spent most of yesterday looking at walking boots for my Scotland expedition. Once I've got some boots I'll be looking forward to it, just a little too much money to be splashing out for one weekend... Talking of going away me and Kat were discussing it the other day, about traveling the big wide world, i really can't wait till these next 2 years are up then i can go and do what i really want to do and hopefully my traveling partner will still be around to tag along.
So I've been here three days and managed to go bouldering twice, i did miss not being able to walk to the wall back home. It also great to be able to walk to and from the clubs, makes life so much cheaper and easier and also you don't get the chance to meet stand-up comics tramps in the back of a cab!! That was a good yet random night out.

Letters keep us posted...

It's been a very strange day. Claire stayed over last night and left about 11 this morning. After she left I showered and got down to some revision. But around 12.30 James social worker turned up and I spent most of the afternoon eaves dropping and doing past papers (badly). Now in what should be a permanent arrangement as of today James no longer lives here. He has left/been removed from this address. I feel totally indignant to the whole situation and see this as beneficial for mum at least, I feel no sadness or loss that it's unlikely that I'll see him in the near future, unless its turning up a Thorpe Woodlands in some Out Reach or ASBO group of kids.

Today has felt strange in another way aswell, all day I've felt that it's my last day before I disappear back to uni even though I'm not going until Wednesday. I don't really won't to go back just yet, I'm very settled back here and I think I'll miss home more this time round. However I'm also sure that after a few days I will be right back into the swing of Sheffield life and again be loving every minute of it, well almost. I've said to a couple of people today that I've done very few of the things I'd planned at the onset of the holidays. No house parties, not met up with that many friends, didn't have the physics reunion or a fair well meal. Just a lot of climbing and wasted days... But then again what else is a holiday for...

I will miss this though...

At my best it's the most I can do...

Tuesday morning, well by the time we left it was afternoon, me and Claire drove to Dearham to spend a couple of days with her dad. It was a nice get away, time to relax, chill out and generally de-stress...

Forget what we're told...

Well I've been accused of not updating very often, and I can't deny that fact, so here is a small update.

Christmas and New Years have passed with nothing extraordinary to mention, New Years was spent drinking and chatting at the Millyard residence which was a good laugh, if not a little cold.

This past week saw the whole Thorpe crew back together for 4 days of intense tuition for our GNAS archery instructor award. It was the best 4 days of this holiday I have to say, we never seem to stop laughing. Someone is always cracking a joke, playing a prank or making a fool of themselves, we do make a great team! We all learned so much in the 4 days, it's probably due to the fact Maureen just couldn't stop telling us about the sport but we all know our recurves from our compounds and our knocks from our piles, some of us have even been dreaming archery! Friday afternoon saw the arrival of our assessor who really tested us, well JJ anyway poor guy, despite that certificates were awarded to everyone, even Dik, (19/20!!!) So Thorpe now has 8 new fully qualified archery instructors. Watch out!

The Team!

What am I aiming for again?

Tim playing with Dik's longbow!

After the assessment on Friday went for an evenings climb with JJ, Emma and Marc at the Cragg. It was a good laugh and nice to be together the four of us, I don't think we did that much climbing really, just stood around talking, and then spent even more time in the bar. After dropping off Marc and JJ, Em and me headed to mine for a film, card and JD!! Woo. It was brilliant to catch up with her, relax and unwind.

Saturday I spent the first few hours trying to conquer a hangover by hanging another one of my pictures then driving to Ipswich to look at walking boots for Scotland. The weather was crap and the trip to Ipswich was almost as crap, apart from buying myself the tent I’d been thinking about since I saw it last week, a steal at £75! I fell asleep in the car on the way home which set the tone for the evening, just a quiet one doing nothing.

Today was again a quiet one, only crawling out of my pit around midday. I did a little revision and then again went climbing this time with Claire, Marc and Dik, I finally bagged both the yellows an greens I’d been playing on even if I didn't do them the 'correct' way... Tomorrow I plan to do a reasonable amount of revision then go to the Sixth Form award ceremony in the evening, but we shall see how the day unfolds...

Later.

The past is never far...

Well welcome to the year 2007...
